HelpingYouHelpUkraine #ToUkraineWithLove You can help a Ukrainian Family have a home. Learn More: https://toukrainewithlove.org/homes/ Transcript: Good day Good day! We are very grateful to you for this house! That we have a place to return to now. We are bowing to you to the ground in gratitude. Sincerely thankful to you from the bottom of our hearts. May God protect you. For your kindness and concern. That you understand. That you are helping us in Ukraine. I am Oksana Ivanivna Ignatenko. I am 49 years old. I am the mom. This is my eldest son. Ruslan Sviatoslavovich Ignatenko. He is 32 years old. This is my daughter, Yana Sviatoslavivna Ignatenko, she is 15 years old. This is my husband Svyatoslav Mykolayovych Ignatenko, he is 53 years old. And we also have a middle son. He is 26 years old. Bohdan Svyatoslavovich Ignatenko who serves on the front lines. On March 8th I went to the store in the village of Bohdanivka with my neighbor. We wanted to get some produce since we were told that the war was coming. We came back from the store. And 20 minutes later the Orcs were in our village. We had enough time to run down to the cellar. And then we heard the rumble. Their tank drove into the yard. The Russians knocked on the doors of the cellar because we locked the door. They told us to come out. We came out. There were 30 armed soldiers standing. We lost our ability to speak from fear. They said that they would not shoot us. But you know, our child was still in the cellar. The thought that something could happen to our child was the most terrifying thought. I live on the outskirts of the village. I could not reach my parents for some time. And worried I started walking to their house. They stopped me in the middle of the street. They blinded my eyes. Told me to take off my shoes. They took me inside the building. And started interrogating me about who I was and what I was doing. And where I was going. I told them I was going to see my parents. They hit me with their gun a few times. And then walked me back to my house. Where I live right now. They searched my house for any Ukrainian soldiers or weapons. They told me to write on my gates, “People. Peace.” And told me to not go outside anymore or they would shoot me. During the occupation, we had their Armored Personnel Carrier that was standing behind our bathroom. Also in the neighbor’s yard. We were sitting in the cellar the whole time. They told us that our territory was our yard. If someone came outside, they would get shot immediately. We spent the whole occupation in the cellar until our house burned down. The name of my middle son is Bohdan Svyatoslavovich Ignatenko. He turned 26 years old on September 3rd. He has a wife and two children aged 5 and 10 years old. He said he would join the army as a volunteer. He wanted to protect our Ukrainian land. He is in the very hot spot. This is not even a Zero Zone, but instead a Minus Zone. He is well known. President Zelensky awarded him with medals. He is already a war veteran being a 26-year-old. But also, he has more than 10 contusions. The last contusion required a hospital stay. He was treated in the hospital for two months. He needed surgery to repair the ruptured membrane in his head. They informed him that if they proceeded with the surgery, he would have to be discharged from the army. He responded firmly, saying,
