A 19-year-old pregnant lady who was chained by her husband and father-in-law was rescued by the women's police and Sovima Police on July 29 at Sovima village near ICFAI University under Chumukedima district. According to reports, around 1.30 p.m the police got the information that one lady has been chained by her husband and father-law and the police team along with women police led by Officer In-Charge took action and rescued the victim. Police have arrested the accused and an FIR has been lodged by the victim’s younger brother. It was learnt the case has been registered and interrogation is on .
